Notes:
It may be difficult at times, if not impossible, to understand what I mean when I say things. Especially if you look through the archives. At some point soon I'll post a revised list of acronyms and terms from my time at Disneyland. In the meanwhile, the only difficulty you're likely to have is that I sometimes express time in 24-hour form (0100 or 2500 = 1:00AM, 1200 = 12 noon, 2930 = 9:30PM). If the (first two digits of the) number is (are) greater than 12, subtract 12 from it and add "PM" after it to get the right time. If the number is STILL greater than 12, subtract 12 again, and change the "PM" to "AM." If the number is under 12, just add "AM."

I may not end out being at a place or available online at the times I think I will be. This blog is primarily meant for my family and friends, who are spread across three continents, half a dozen states and provinces, and at least seven different time zones. Which reminds me to tell you that all times are set to Columbus, Ohio time (EST or EDT), except for those dated before 30 July 2004 (those are PST or PDT). So if you're in California and you're looking for me and it says I'll be online at, say, 2300/11pm, that means 8pm for you.

An update, an update...
My, er, kingdom, as it were, for an update.

Yes, an update. Not a whole lot of variety in my daily schedule at this point, but still, the people seem to be a little lost as to how to find me, and I thought I'd provide some assistance, now that the insanity of NaNoWriMo is wrapped up.

5 Dec 2004 (Sunday) -- 1000-1700 [Family Holiday Party/OH National Guard]
6 Dec 2004 (Monday) -- 0600-1430 [Work]
7 Dec 2004 (Tuesday) -- 0600-1430 [Work]
-- 1830-2130 [Institute Class: Church History]
8 Dec 2004 (Wednesday) -- 0600-1430 [Work]
9 Dec 2004 (Thursday) -- 0600-1430 [Work]
10 Dec 2004 (Friday) -- 0600-1430 [Work]
11 Dec 2004 (Saturday) -- Nothing, at the moment. FREEDOM!!!!

In general, expect me to be at work every weekday from around 6am to around 2:30pm. Oftentimes I'll get to work earlier; I generally try to leave between 4:45 and 5:00 each morning (yes, I hate my life). Whenever I get to work early, I get to leave early. It's a beautiful thing.

13 Oct 2004 - 19 Oct 2004
So, pretty straightforward. I'm working about 25 hours a week, incidentally, which is really crummy in terms of saving up to buy a car, go to California (once for a half-week, once for six weeks), go to Washington DC for a job interview, and pay off my OSU loan so I can get my degree so I can afford to pay off all my OTHER loans... anyway, enough of my whining.

13 Oct 2004 (Wednesday) -- 1130-1300 [Institute Class: Book of Mormon]
14 Oct 2004 (Thursday) -- 1700-2200 [Work]
15 Oct 2004 (Friday) -- 1700-2400 [Work]
16 Oct 2004 (Saturday) -- 1700-2300 [Work]
17 Oct 2004 (Sunday) -- 1100-1400 [Church]

New Week! 6 Oct - 12 Oct 2004
And just in time, as the first day in this post is today.

6 Oct 2004 (Wednesday) -- 1130-1300 [Institute Class: Book of Mormon]
                                          -- 1700-2300 [Work]
7 Oct 2004 (Thursday) -- freedom!!!
8 Oct 2004 (Friday) -- 1700-2300 [Work]
9 Oct 2004 (Saturday) -- 1700-2400 [Work]
10 Oct 2004 (Sunday) -- 1800-2200 [Work]
11 Oct 2004 (Monday) -- freedom!!!
12 Oct 2004 (Tuesday) -- 1830-2130 [Institute Class: Church History]

I totally realized just now that I may have forgotten to ask for the Friday YSA dance off. D'oh! I'll remember next month. Also, I have to remember to ask for my birthday off, because I've worked or done something work/school-related on almost every birthday since I turned 16, and that's kind of lame.

New Schedule (9/15 - 9/21)
Well, I have a schedule for my first week of real work since mid-July! As usual, all times are Ohio (EST) and 24-hour time (see the sidebar if you don't understand). I won't be accessible during these times, nor for an hour before and after, generally (it'll take less time to get home, obviously, at 3am, than it will at 5pm).

15 September (Wednesday) -- 1600-2300 [Work]

Finally, something to report...
Yes, that's right folks, I have something to report!! Here's my training schedule for Steak n' Shake. Also, my usual Sunday schedule, because... well, why not?

Thursday (9 Sept): 1130-1500 (Steak n' Shake Training)
Friday (10 Sept): 1130-1500 (Steak n' Shake Training)
Sunday (12 Sept): 1100-1400 (Church)
Tuesday (14 Sept): 1130-1500 (Steak n' Shake Training)

So, there you are. I won't be online during any of those times. Remember, these are Ohio time (GMT -5).

Tomorrow, Tomorrow, I'll go shopping, tomorrow...
Hello, oh ye few and noble fans of my location. Tomorrow I'm going to buy suiting fabric, I hope. It should be exciting. In fact, I hope it'll be appropriate to describe it as INTENSE SHOPPING ACTION!!. But in any case, suiting fabric is on sale at Hancock Fabrics tomorrow, and I want some.

In other news, on Wednesday I have a job orientation thingie (I think - this current job thing is REALLY confusing). If all goes well, I'll actually have a SCHEDULE to put up here again. Won't that be splendiferous? Anyway, it's at 3pm until ??, so don't expect me online until later that night. At which point the privileged few (nay, the elect of SarahFinding) will get to hear all about my experience.

On a related note, I've gone slightly loopy unpacking boxes today. Can you tell?

FREE AT LAST, FREE AT LAST...
I no longer am employed by the Walt Disney Corporation. Woohoo! It'll take a while to get a new job, until then I'll leave up the explanation stuff over in the sidebar. I'll probably eventually do an archive page someplace about my time at the parks, might as well keep that stuff (since my hard drive is dead, I don't have access to a lot of my notes right now) until then.

Meanwhile, email me for my new contact info. I'll be pretty much wandering around Ohio taking care of errands for a few days, so I should be fairly accessible.

NEW SCHEDULE, MUCH BETTER HOURS
So, begging and pleading with Kathy, may she schedule forever, will probably ensure I don't have to do any more five in the morning nonsense. In the meantime, it looks like she didn't want me doing any of that this upcoming week, anyway. The new schedule looks like this:

11 April (Sunday) -- 0930-1800/Pioneer HW
12 April (Monday) -- 0930-1800/Adventureland RN
13 April (Tuesday) -- 0800-1630/Emporim RN (Main Street??? Whoa...)
15 April (Thursday) -- 0930-1800/Adventureland RN
16 April (Friday) -- 0930-1800/Critter Country RN
17 April (Saturday) -- 1330-2130/Critter Country RN

Yeah, I know. Another hat writing shift (on the West Side, no less -- there's only two or three of those per day, amazingly enough; I don't know if that means there really is an Almighty Power who looks after me, if those blood sacrifices I promised Kathy are coming due, or if someone with MUCH higher senority than me (actually, a bunch of someones) requested a day off that day. And, a Main Street runner shift (a morning one, which means that whole seniority thing is really starting to pay off, sort of -- I hate mornings, but they mean you have more seniority, so... ummm... actually, it's not really paying off, I just know I have it, and that it's the cause of my suffering...) I'm pretty sure the Main Street thing means that the demise of landlocking is nigh, in any event. Now go forth and try to arrange to talk with me, based on this information. I wish you all luck.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION...
All new posts to this, the SarahFinder, will be dispatched to the YahooGroup, EleventhInLine. It joins its sister blogs (Eleventh In Line and SamizBlog) in this distinction, and also claims other Sarah-written pieces yet to be published as fellow travelers in this effort. Erm, that is to say... oh for heaven's sake, if you don't want to have to wonder whether I've put my schedule up yet, just join the group.

I AM THE SOUL OF URGENCY --
At least, for today. Yes, that's right, the new schedule is out, and I've got it sitting in my lap. Here you go, eager readers:

4 April (Sunday) -- 0500-1330/Frontierland RN
5 April (Monday) -- 0930-1800/Frontierland RN
6 April (Tuesday) -- 1300-2100/Frontierland RN
7 April (Wednesday) -- 1000-1700/GagFactory HW (!!!! EAST SIDE !!!!)
9 April (Friday) -- 0930-1800/Frontierland RN (for a change of pace, you see)
10 April (Saturday) -- 0500-1330/New Orleans RN (spoke too soon)

Okay, so clearly, the early shift thing is becoming a disturbing trend. I really really am not a morning person. I'm also not a huge fan of short turnarounds; the 2nd will likely become an 8-hour shift (same with the 7th, incidentally), which will give me several 8-11 hour turnarounds in the course of two weeks (the 2nd/3rd will be an 8.5; 6th/7th is 11; 9th/10th is 11). Anything shorter than 12 hours is worthless (it takes about two hours to get home, change, and get to sleep, and 1.5 hours to get to the Resort and change clothes again -- that gives me 8 hours to sleep and a half hour to take a shower; anything less than 12 hours means I get less than 8 hours of sleep); anything shorter than about 15 hours is just, well, not fun. Anyway, I don't think I'll be trying to get out of ALL of these early shifts, because there's too many of them, but I'll be grumpy by the end of Spring Break at this rate.

NEXT WEEK...
Okay, so it took a little longer than expected. At least it's up now...

28 March (Sunday) -- 1630-0100/New Orleans RN
1 April (Thursday) -- 0700-1200/Critter Country RN (*)
2 April (Friday) -- 1200-1700/New Orleans RN
3 April (Saturday) -- 0500-1330/Frontierland RN (*)

* These shifts are so early, I'm trying to trade up to something later in the day; stay tuned.

I HAVE DISTURBING NEWS...
There are more than a few people in this world who actually missed my updating this thing. Can you imagine? It boggles the mind. Anyway, now that one of them isn't my roommate anymore and thusly can't just look on the wall to see where I'm at any given time, and given that there are actually other people out there who never had that ability to begin with and would like access to that sort of information, I thought I'd, you know, go back to actually doing this thing. What a thought. Today is a big day. Or something.

Anyway, here you go. Next week, for your pleasure and information and stuff.

21 March (Sunday) -- 1730-0200/Adventureland RN
25 March (Thursday) -- 1200-1730/Frontierland RN
26 March (Friday) -- 1200-1700/Critter Country RN
27 March (Saturday) -- 1730-0200/Adventureland RN

I've got my notes on the week after that in the car. I'll update later on. Just as an FYI, if you're trying to get ahold of me for any reason, any of those short shifts (less than 8 hours) will probably be extended to 8 (or more). So, on days when I start at 12pm that would mean finishing at 8:30pm, as an example. Just something to contemplate during Spring Break...
